Let's Celebrate! Flourish & Bask is One Year Old.

I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since I opened my doors. What a whirlwind it’s been!

Thank you for shopping at my little store.

Thank you for welcoming us into the Oakville Downtown community, for embracing the concept of cocktails and entertaining, and spreading the word to your friends and family.

It turns out a few of you love to make cocktails at home and Flourish & Bask is here for you.

My year one plans were to focus on the bricks and mortar space, build an online community of followers, and (my favourite part) get to know you, my customers.

I don’t mean to brag, but I have the BEST customers and I’ve enjoyed every moment getting to know you!

I’ve discovered your favourite cocktails, met your son/daughter/spouse/friend who LOVES cocktails, heard about your new basement/cottage/apartment home bar, and learned what ingredients, tools, and products you’ve been trying to find.

After speaking to you about products you can’t find, I’ve added so much to my inventory.

A year ago, I had no idea how many of you were looking for quality replacements for full alcohol wines and spirits. Our alcohol-free line has grown, and continues to grow, as I discover more incredible products. I aim to be a go-to for anyone looking to lower their alcohol consumption. I truly believe that traditional cocktail culture and the sober lifestyle can exist together and want to help promote both.

What’s in store for year two?

Workshops! I have had so much demand for cocktail workshops. This was always a year two plan, but now I know they are in demand. Starting in the new year, I will offer a fun, inclusive way for you to learn about cocktails, and cocktail culture in a way that is approachable and not intimidating. Maybe we can solve the mystery of Bitters together. I’ll keep you posted.

Expansion of the website. The website has taken a backseat to bricks and mortar this year, but I plan to find cost effective shipping and delivery so more people can experience Flourish and Bask at home.

I will continue to source new and interesting products. I look to Canadian made whenever possible and love working with all these fabulous local companies.  And I will buy items that are different and pretty, but also practical. I don’t want your purchases sitting on a shelf collecting dust.

I encourage you to use your pretty glassware, serve butter in the fun dish with the glass dome, or light your scented candles.

You deserve to make every day a big deal; every gathering, dinner, or quiet evening at home should be special.

Thanks again for making year one so much fun. We’ll see you again soon…

Cheers!

Chantal
